This castle was built by the Lamont Clan but "passed" to Clan Campbell,
a powerful neighbour.
After Montrose was defeated the Campbell's of Argyle ravaged the Lamont
clan lands.
They took 200 prisoners to Dunoon and massacred them at Gallowhill.
